The Kerry Film Festival is back on the 29th Oct until 5th Nov and is an exquisite mix of fantastic up and coming modern movies and classic film noir, a real treat for all you discerning movie fanatics. The event’s main intention is to bring in new blood from around the world to present their short films and gain some richly deserved exposure and recognition. This is one very prestigious event that has seen adjudicators like Gabriel Byrne, Liam Neeson, Jim Sheridan and the mighty Mike Leigh all wanting to take part as they know how important the medium of Film is.
There will be screenings all over Kerry, including Tralee, Dingle, Listowel, Killarney, Valencia and Caherciveen, showing some of the most modern films to date, plus some timeless masterpieces consisting of ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ and the mesmerizing ‘Gilda’. This event is also responsible for issuing the Maureen O’Hara award for ladies who have excelled in Film, whose previous recipients have included, Brenda Fricker, Rebecca Miller and last year’s winner, Juliet Binoche.
