VALENTIA ISLAND
Located at the tip of south County Kerry, Valentia is a little island connected by landbridge and ferry to the mainland at Portmagee. It offers the holidaymaker crystal clear diving waters, unspoilt beaches, deep sea fishing, wonderful walking – all in an unspoilt, peaceful environment.
THE ACCOMMODATION
An Tiaracht is a spacious detached 4 bedroom holiday home set on a half acre of private garden and lawn offering wonderful views over the Blasket Islands, the Dingle Peninsula and the magical Skellig Rocks. Ideal for families, this holiday home can accommodate up to 7 people in 3 double bedrooms and 1 single bedroom. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs and the other two are located upstairs. There are three bathrooms - one shared main bathroom on the ground floor with a shower and a bath and two ensuite bathrooms on the first floor with shower only.
The towns of Portmagee (exactly 2 miles from An Tiaracht) and Knightstown (6 miles from An Tiaracht) offer a selection of pubs and restaurants. The closest shop would be in Portmagee (2 miles away) to pick up groceries.
There is a good taxi service available in the area so if you wanted to drive into Portmagee for the evening you would be able to get a taxi home.
The closest golf courses would be in Waterville (15km) and Dooks.
THINGS TO DO IN THE LOCAL AREA
Valentia is one of the more scenic, untouched areas off the south coast of Kerry, an island steeped in history. The Island is an ideal base to tour the South Kerry region. Activities on the island include:

Hiking on the many nature trails and to the tip of the Island, Bray Head. Alternatively, An Tiaracht is just a 2km walk or drive to Geokaum Mountain and Cliff Walk

The more adventurous can enjoy deep seas diving offered by the local diving school.

Boat trip Skellig Rock. An Tiaracht is just 3kms from Portmagee where you can take a Boat Trip out to the incredible Skellig Rocks and their ancient Monastic Site.

There is a folder at An Tiaracht containing information, guide books and maps on all of the above. There is also plenty of reading material along with a selection of CD's and DVD's for guest's use during their stay.
DIRECTIONS
From Killarney travel to Cahersiveen (60kms) in the direction of Waterville. 4kms from Caherciveen turn right for Portmagee and Valentia. Cross over the bridge onto Valentia. Take a left turn at the t-junction. Travel 2.5km until you see the sign for St.Brendan's Well. At the sign, take a left and An Tiaracht is the first house on the left hand side.
