Accommodation at Avon Rí in County Wicklow consists of 39 luxury self catering townhouses with stunning views of either Blessington Lake or the Wicklow countryside. Each self-catering townhouse comprises 3 large bedrooms with en-suite facilities, and a magnificent open-plan kitchen, dining and living room with fireplace.

The townhouses accommodate up to six people each and are equipped to a very high standard, with all the appliances of a private home (cable TV, washing machine, cooker, microwave and dishwasher) to make sure guests have everything they need for their stay while at Avon Rí. Each townhouse is extremely spacious and has been plushly furnished throughout. Each house has two double bedrooms and one twin room.

Avon Rí clubhouse consists of the main reception lobby, il lago restaurant (with deck overlooking Blessington and the Wicklow Countryside), the swimming pool facilities, and the reception for all the outdoor activities. Upstairs are the Avon Rí café bar, the gym room, and a number of function and meeting rooms for occasions and events of all types.

ACTIVITIES

Avon Rí has a wide range of leisure activities for you to partake in during your time in the Wicklow countryside. Enjoy a host of indoor or outdoor leisure activities whether on a weekend with friends, family holiday to Ireland or with colleagues on a corporate event. Indoors we have a swimming pool and Jacuzzi with beautiful views out over Blessington Lake, a sauna and steam room, and a comprehensively equipped gym. Our outdoor activities divide into water-based and land-based, and our experienced outdoor activity team is on hand to teach, set-up and co-ordinate all levels of participation in all our activities.

Sailing

Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort has a number of boats available for guests to use during their stay at the resort and provided a number of training courses for you to learn about this fantastic sport. The following boats are available at the resort:

The resort provides a number of different sailing courses to suit you levels of sailing knowledge.

An Introduction to Sailing - The aim is a brief introduction session to offer a positive experience of sailing small boats.

Start Sailing - The aim of this course is to promote a brief taste of sailing for novices and includes basic boat handling techniques and essential background knowledge for this level.

Basic Sailing Skills - The aim of this course is to give an introduction to sailing, the boat, all the points of sailing, the wind, safety, launching and recovery.

Canoeing

Canoeing and Kayaking breaks can be as long as one might like, and range from anything from a trip on the lake, to sea trips, river trips and friendly canoe polo games.

Windsurfing

Windsurfing is a sport that has been in Ireland since the 1980's and in that time there has been a large number of changes in the way we teach windsurfing and the evolution of the equipment. The boards are now smaller but wider, which makes them more stable but a lot more manoeuvrable.

Horseriding

There are a number of equestrian centers in the area. Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort can arrange any of the following activities:

We can also arrange some trekking along the local forest trails and among the mountains, which will provide you with amazing views of the lake and the Wicklow Mountains landscape. 

Tennis

With our new on site tennis court we can provide tennis coaching lessons. Our Coaches can look at all aspects of your game to enable them to provide a lesson plan to suit you.

Angling

Wicklow is renowned for its magnificent views and landscape. Blessington lake is one of many peaceful lakes in Wicklow and there are many winding rivers and a vast coast line nearby. Course angling and competitive brown trout angling are available with abundant stocks of roach, perch and specimen pike being caught in Blessington Lake.

5 a-side Soccer

Our on site Astro-turf pitch will provide the perfect all weather training facility and is a great addition to any corporate team building event schedule.

Cycling

If you are interested in exploring the Wicklow countryside, cycling is a great way to see the mountains and lakes of Wicklow.  We can provide bikes and a guide to offer you a tailor made trail package.

Segway

The Segway cross terrain transporter is the latest self balancing human transporter that provides enhanced performance on a variety of terrain with minimal environmental impact. The Segway has three controls of speed of 3mph to 12 mph. The Segway will be used as part of the corporate and development days at Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort.

Archery

We have an archery range on site, with a number of different type of bows, to suit left and right handed people. You will be taught how to hold, load and fire, and will be given full safety instructions. We will also look at the different ways and styles of aiming a bow.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

We have an onsite shooting range with down the line targets of various sizes, using automatic and manual traps. You can bring your own gun or use one of our wide range of guns. We will have organised competitions which will include your shoot and some lunch.

Air Rifle Shooting

With next to no sound or recoil, air guns are great to use, however you need skill to get your targets. To use both the air guns and the clay shooting guns you need to be 18 years or over. The air gun is ideal for the first time shooter.

Orienteering

In the forest you will have a map and the task is to find locations around the forest. At some of these locations some mini tasks may have to be completed in order to move onto the next stage. Our guides can tailor an Orienteering package to suit any requirements, whether it is an individual package or a corporate team building event.
