Originally constructed in 1860 and now a listed building, the attractive rustic structure of the Courtyard has recently been converted into eight individual apartments. All have earned a four-star rating from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and each one has been designed very much in sympathy with the warmth and strength of the original building materials. In recognition of this sensitive development the Courtyard has won an RICS commendation for regeneration as well as a prestigious Northern Ireland BA Tourism award.

Every self-catering apartment within the Courtyard has its own character and style with some suitable for use by disabled visitors, another having a children's loft and sleeping options.

THE ESTATE

Cross over a bridge from the mainland and enter a world apart. Situated on the northern tip of Upper Lough Erne, Belle Isle is a 470-acre estate spread over eight picturesque islands. Inhabited since the 12th century, the estate today offers a wide range of attractive self-catering accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets. Moreover, Belle Isle is also a vibrant working estate with a fully functioning farm including a fine herd of ninety dairy cows.

Our aim when developing the estate for our visitors was to simply convert and refurbish a number of listed buildings and existing cottages in a sensitive and caring manner. Above all else we were keen to avoid any feeling of 'new build' and instead preserve the unique beauty and timeless atmosphere of this idyllic area which is nationally recognised as an Area of Special Scientific Interest.

Visitors to the estate can choose to stay in apartments, cottages, houses or even a castle, with each room designed and furnished to enhance quality and comfort. This broad range of accommodation has been carefully planned to cater for everyone, from visitors who simply wish to relax away from the pressures of everyday life to those who are keen to enjoy the varied activities available in the Fermanagh Lakelands area.
