Dunaras Village is an attractive, village style complex in pleasantly landscaped surroundings. Dunaras Village is the perfect place to stay if you wish to visit Galway as it is located just minutes away from Galway City and Salthill.  It is also an ideal location to explore the beautiful scenery and the peace and tranquillity of Connemara.

At Dunaras Village we have a choice of either a 2 or a 3 Bedroom beautifully appointed apartment. Each apartment is built to a 3* standard and comes with a fully fitted solid oak kitchen, dining room and living room, with everything you may need while on holiday. All bedrooms are ensuite and have internet access. There is also WiFi internet in the living room area of the apartments.

All Rooms in the apartments are spacious and generously fitted out. There are tiled floors in the living rooms and hallways, and carpet in the bedrooms. All upstairs apartments have a balcony while groundfloor apartments have a patio. The complex is only 3 stories high with generous outdoor space and ample car parking.

Directions to Property

As you are coming into Galway follow the signs for Salthill.  Once in Salthill Village, follow the coast road (R336) along the Promenade until you come to Threadneedle Road (R338). Turn onto Threadneedle Road and contine to follow this road until you come on to the Bishop O’Donnell Road (R338). You will come to the Deane Roundabout and Dunaras Village is the 3rd exit off the Deane Roundabout.

Galway's Scenic Attractions

GALWAY CITY: known as "The city of the Tribes" Galway City & Eyre Square is one of Ireland top tourist destinations. Galway sits on the edge of the River Corrib surrounded by Galway Bay facing the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. It is home to some of the best and most atmospheric pubs and restaurants. Galway's famous Spanish Arch is located on the left bank of the Corrib, where Galway's river meets the sea.

SALTHILL: once a small seaside resort 3 km west of Galway City,  is now the premier resort in Ireland.  Salthill is the nearest village to Dunaras located just over a mile away.  It has an array of lively and traditional pubs and restaurants to choose from. It is situated adjacent to Galway Bay which will always be the main attraction of Salthill. The visitor has a host of safe, sandy beaches from which to choose. Swimming, sunbathing, sail-boarding, snorkelling, sea angling and high board diving, can be enjoyed here. For the less energetic, a stroll along Ireland's longest promenade, is a must.  A ramble through nearby Salthill Park and Quincentennial Park to view the flowers and shrubs is very enjoyable on a sunny day. Alternatively, one can try a spot of tennis or golf at the nearby clubs.

BEACHES: The Galway area offers a host of safe, sandy beaches from which to choose. Visitors can also enjoy long walks along Salthill Promenade ( Ireland's longest promenade)taking in the fresh Galway Bay sea air. Swimming, sunbathing, sail-boarding, snorkelling, sea angling & lots more can be enjoyed here.

The Aran Islands: Located about 30 miles from the heart of Galway Bay, the Aran Islands offer visitors a glimpse into a way of life that has long since disappeared from most of the county & are a must see when in the area. The unique landscape of the islands exhibit a crosshatch of thousands of miles of stone walls and visitors flock to the islands to enjoy the cliff-top walks and spectacular coastal scenery.

CLIFFS OF MOHER: The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's most visited tourist attractions and one of Irelands most spectacular natural wonders. From the top of the cliffs there are views on a clear day, to the Aran Islands and Galway Bay, the Maum Turk and Twelve Bens mountains in Connemara.

CONNEMARA: The distinct region of Connemara is located in the north west corner of County Galway. Connemara's breathtaking landscape is a mixture of unspoilt rivers, lakes, woodlands, rich meadowlands, rugged hills, dramatic mountains and stunning coastline of sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. Connemara is a Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) area, rich in Irish culture, heritage and traditions. The main town in the Connemara region is Clifden. It has lots of quirky shops, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs to explore. Throughout the region there are many very interesting attractions like Kylemore Abbey, Connemara History & Heritage Centre in Clifden, Glengowla Mines in Oughterard, the 40,000 acre Connemara National Park and the set of the film 'The Field' in Leenane, which was directed by Jim Sheridan in the 1990's. Connemara is the ideal place to visit if you want to experience all things Irish.

GOLF:
GALWAY GOLF CLUB- Galway Golf Club has long been recognised as possessing one of the finest courses in the country. Galway Golf Club is an excellent parkland course that is centrally located in Salthill and just over a mile away from Dunaras Village. It has a magnificent new clubhouse which boasts panoramic views of Galway Bay and the Burren from its elevated site.

GALWAY BAY GOLF CLUB - The Natural water hazard is the Atlantic Ocean; such is the dramatic backdrop to this Par 72 PGA Championship 18 hole golf course that is Galway Bay Golf Resort close to the village of Oranmore, just 10 km from Galway City. When designing the course, former Ryder Cup and World Cup golfer Christy O'Connor Jnr superbly blended the stunning backdrop of Galway Bay and the rugged curves of the Atlantic coastline with mature trees, water hazards, concealed bunkers and highly acclaimed putting surfaces.

CONNEMARA GOLF LINKS - Connemara Golf Club is one of the few authentic links courses in the world. Nestled between the mountains and the sea in the West of Ireland, the Connemara Championship Golf Links is an exhilarating golfing experience. This awesomely picturesque 72 par course with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean was designed by Eddie Hackett and measures over 7,000 yards.
