Holiday Cottages at the Eclipse Centre - Kerry's One Stop Activity Centre

Set against the backdrop of the magnificent McGillicuddy Reeks, located approximately 35 minutes drive from Killarney and 15 minutes drive from Kenmare, this exclusive development is set within the 90 acre Swan House Estate, Dromore Old, the Eclipse Centre offers peace, relaxation, adventure and fun in a beautiful and tranquil setting.  Sauna, steam-room and Jacuzzi (charges apply which are payable on-site) and walks through the estate’s woodland and gardens mean you can combine a wonderful leisure experience with a multitude of activities to suit all the family.

Internally, each of the five homes at the Eclipse Centre offers a relaxing, contemporary design defining a well-appointed living environment whilst maintaining charm and distinction. Each unit accommodates between 4 and 7 people depending on house type.   Custom built, the properties are designed to exceed the needs of the modern family and are furnished with all the conveniences of modern life.  House No. 1 has a downstairs single bedroom and a roll in shower adapted for wheelchair use.  All houses are light and airy with porcelain tiled or oak flooring covered with luxuriant rugs. The well equipped large kitchen/dining area features walnut units, oak dining tables and leather dining chairs, with French doors to a private patio.  The lovely bright living rooms are beautifully furnished with comfy leather sofas, 26” flat screen TVs with satellite stations, DVD player and hi-fi system.

The two bedroom house (sleeping 4) consists of 1 double room and 1 twin room. The two bedroom house (sleeping 6) consists of two rooms each with a double with single bed and the three bedroom house (sleeping 7) consists of 1 double, 1 bunk and a single and 1 twin room. We also have a three bedroom house (sleeping 6) - this has 1 room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, 1 twin room (2 single beds) - both located upstairs.  There is 1 single room located downstairs - This is the disability access house.

ONSITE ACTIVITIES:

The Eclipse Centre truly is Kerry's one stop Activity Centre and seeks to deliver a unique and extensive range of outdoor and indoor activities to facilitate visitors with diverse interests and abilities whilst ensuring that they are well supervised in a safe, secure and controlled environment.

Equestrian Pursuits:

Long Tours, Trail-riding and Trekking, Hacking, Dressage, Riding Tuition for beginners and lectures on Stable Management.   An eventing course and indoor arena will be available in Autumn 2009.

Cycling:

Rugged Track Safaris, Family Tours, Heritage Trails and Self-Led Tours with pick-up service.

Hill Walking:

A to C Categories including:- Carrauntoohil, Peakeen to Windy Gap, Cummeengeera circuit (Beara peninsula), Killaha-Mucksna, Glen Inchaquin, Cloonee circuit and many grade 'c' category walks that explore the many sites of antiquity and local heritage.

Angling:

Permits organised in advance for the Kerry Blackwater River, River Laune and Kerry Lakes. Trout and fly fishing instruction is available on the estate’s private lake.

Kayaking

You can take part in tranquil sea and lake kayaking with the only noise the sound of your paddle breaking the water , or theres river and white water kayaking for the more adventurous.

Orienteering:

For the militarily minded and senior levels - to treasure hunting for small junior groups and families.

Golf

For the golf enthusiast there is a plethora of courses in the area from the picturesque Kenmare Golf Course, the challenging Ring or Kerry Golf course with spectacular views over Kenmare Bay and of course the world famous Waterville Links course

Marine

For marine enthusiasts - Deep Sea Fishing, Seal Watching Boat trips and Diving can be arranged.

CORPORATE INCENTIVE DAYS

To include specialised packages to meet the needs of companies using some, or all of the Centre's facilities, culminating in a lavish barbeque banquet.

Riding and Dressage Tuition, Climbing Wall, Ropes Course, Mental Agility/Lateral thinking Team Building courses, a variety of indoor activities.

High and Low Ropes Course (Summer 2010):

High and Low Ropes Courses are not only great fun, but for team development they allow an introduction to individual challenge, addressing all the basic principles of both physical and mental confidence building, leading to group involvement and initiative, with loads of fun.
