KILLORGLIN RIVERBANK LODGES:

3 tastefully furnished spacious Bedrooms – one en suite, with a King Bed and balcony overlooking the river, one with a Double Bed and one with two Single Beds and balcony overlooking the river.
2 bathrooms fully tiled, one with bath, shower & bidet, the other with shower en suite.
Living Room with floor to ceiling wall of window with sliding  double door to sun terrace which spans the entire front of the lodge to captivate the stunning magnificent views of the river and mountains.

All electric fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, microwave oven, washer/dryer, fridge, etc.

  • A splendid and lush green lawn runs the full length of the lodges where children can safely play. There is a private slipway to the river which is full of wildlife – swans, herons, otters, not to mention wild salmon and trout.
  • The Lodges are owner managed so that you are assured of a warm welcome and personal attention.
  • Golf clubs and fishing rods are available for hire. So why not come and catch your breakfast !

Killorglin Riverbank Lodges are Self Catering Holiday Homes in Killorglin each house, with balcony running the full width at living room and dining room level and bedroom balconies on upper level, faces the river and woodland beyond. Up river is Ireland’s highest mountain–Carrantuohill– a favourite with climbers. And down river is where the boatmen go to catch the wild salmon and trout for which our river Laune is famous. Fishing is free from our riverbank and slipway.

KILLORGLIN

Killorglin is a bustling town in the heart of county Kerry.  It is located at the gateway to both the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula and close to the cosmopolitan towns of Killarney, Kenmare and Dingle.  The town offers a great selection of traditional Irish pubs and some fantastic restaurants and there is a host of activities within the town and its surrounds.

PUCK FAIR

Killorglin is the venue for one of Ireland's most unusual street festivals - Puck Fair. The fair is one of Ireland's oldest and longest celebrated and is held every year on 10th, 11th and 12th August hours of free family street entertainment.  The main events of the festival include the traditional horse fair, parade and coronation ceremony of King Puck, open air night concerts, fireworks display, children's competitions, street entertainers and dancing displays. 

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Ring of Kerry

Killorglin is located at the gateway to the Ring of Kerry.  This is a world famous scenic drive around the Iveragh Peninsula which takes you through such quaint and picturesque towns as Glenbeigh, Cahirsiveen, Waterville, Sneem, Kenmare and Killarney.  

Rossbeigh Beach

Located just 8 miles from Killorglin lies this beautiful sandy Blue Flag beach.  It is seven kilometres in length and is ideal for swimming. windsurfing, sailing, horse-trekking, sailing, sea fishing, shore fishing and many other water sports and activities.

Golf

Killorglin boasts its own scenic 18 hole Dooks Golf Course with spectacular views over Dingle Bay.  With its prime location on the gateway to the Ring of Kerry, Killorglin is the ideal base for a golfing holiday as  the courses of Waterville, Kenmare, Ring of Kerry and Killarney are all within driving distance.

Horse Riding

There is a number of Equestrian Centres around Killorglin offering pony trekking along the strand or indeed up more hilly terrain.

Walking

Killorglin and its surrounding areas offers a wude variety of walking routes from quiet country walks to coastal walks to The Kerry Way and the ascent of Ireland’s highest mountain – Carrauntuohill. 

Angling

Killorglin is situated on the river Laune, an excellent salmon fishing river.  The river Laune boasts a run of Salmon and the river also drains the largest of the Killarney Lakes which is known for its brown trout. A private boat is available for fishing/boat trips.

Cycling

Killorglin is an ideal place for cycling and bikes are available for hire on a daily or weekly basis.

Glencar

Perched high above Caragh Lake lies the naturally beautiful district of Glencar which is a popular section of the Kerry Way Walking Route.   It is also offers some of the most picturesque picnic areas imaginable. 

Caragh Lake

Caragh Lake lies just on the outskirts of Killorglin town.  The lake is five miles long by one mile wide and is well known to artists, walkers and lovers of nature alike.  This freshwater lake with its backdrop of the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain rainge and the lower Caragh River is renowned for salmon and trout fishing and for various watersports. 

VISITOR ATTRACTIONS

Museum & Exhibition Centre

This fascinating centre offers a number of displays including the history of the Circus, the legends and history asscociated with Puck Fair and an outdoor display of old farm machinery and artifacts.

Killarney National Park

Killarney National Park is just a fifteen minute drive from The Grove Lodge Riverside Holiday Homes.  It consists of 25,000 acres of lakes, rivers, mountains, wildlife and walks where all year round you can commune with Nature without interruption.

GETTING THERE

Killorglin is located approximately a 15 minute drive from the town of Killarney which is accessible by Mainline Train, Bus and Airplane into Kerry Airport.  Cork Airport is just over an hour’s drive away.

Property Summary

Killorglin Riverbank Lodges are superbly situated on the banks of the wild salmon River Laune in Killorglin on the Ring of Kerry. These architect designed, detached, stylish holiday homes were built in 1992 & have proven over the years to be a very desirable holiday location given that all the amenities of the town are right on the doorstep and yet so peaceful and quiet looking at the wonderful views to be enjoyed up and down river. The best of both worlds!!
