Mount Falcon Country House Hotel and Estate is newly renovated 4* family run hotel located on the west bank of the River Moy among 100 acres of magical woodlands between Foxford and Ballina, 4 miles from the closest town in County Mayo.

PROPERTY TYPES 

There are three types of properties each in it's own idyllic setting on the Estate

Woodland Lodges

The Woodland lodges are large 3 bedroomed detached houses.  All bedrooms have double beds (two of the bedrooms are downstairs and one is upstairs).  The houses are beautifully furnished and finished for a luxurious and relaxing break. 

Lakeside Houses

The Lakside houses are also three bedroom units sleeping up to six people in 3 double bedrooms (two of the bedrooms are upstairs and one is downstairs).  These are also very spacious and have a lovely setting overlooking the private lake which is stocked with trout for use by hotel and holiday homes residents.

Courtyard Houses

The Courtyard is set in the style of an old Irish rural courtyard in a horseshoe shape.  There are both 3 and 4 bedroom options in the Courtyard sleeping 6-8 people respectively. These houses are particulary well suited to families due to their layout.  All the bedrooms in the 3 bedroom houses are located downstairs and in the 4 bedroom houses, three of the bedrooms are located upstairs and one is downstairs.

FISHING

Mount Falcon residents can exclusively enjoy two miles of private fishing rights on both banks of the Moy River. It is ideal for all fishing methods including fly, bait and spinning. The best fishing is from April to September.  Alternatively we have lake-fishing available on the Estate which is suitable for fly-fishing only & good for beginners! Please contact the Hotel directly to arrange fishing, licenses & for applicable rates.

GOLF

The North West of Ireland is a must for discerning golfers: Tiger Woods, Mark O'Meara and Nick Faldo have been regular visitors to Mount Falcon over the last few years, using it as a base to fish or visit the 12 golf courses within a 30 mile radius, including the three championship links courses: Enniscrone, Belmullet and Rosses Point. Making the region a premier golf destination.  A particular favourite of visitors to Mount Falcon is Ballina Parkland course.

LEISURE CENTRE

Guests of the Holiday Homes have full access to the onsite leisure facilities of the Mount Falcon Country House Hotel including:

• Gym

Leisure Centre Opening Hours are:

• Monday to Friday 7.30am-10pm
• Saturdays & Sundays 9am-8pm
• Please note that children are welcome in the Leisure Centre until 7pm

PLEASE NOTE that the hotel will be closed from 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and all day Christmas Day. It will open again on Stephen's Day.

Events

1st September - Roscommon Races, a day at the Roscommon racecourse reveals the pleasure to be had in the sometimes hidden parts of Ireland.

7th September - Ballinrobe Agricultural Show will include Jumping, horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, dogs, fowl, farm and garden,cookery, flowers, homecraft, art and children’s section.Fun day out for all.

26th & 28th September - Lady Gregory Autumn Gathering - A weekend of lectures, plays, cultural & Social events to highlight Lady Gregory's contribution to the Irish Literary Revival.

20th & 21st September - Windsurfing & Wavesailing Championship & Festival.Annual wavesailing competition.

27th September - Westport Horse Fair - Horse Fair with ponies & horses for sale and show classes for horses & ponies in the morning.
