BURTONPORT:

Burtonport is a small fishing village situated about 3.5 miles from the largest local town Dunglow. The village boasts 2 superb restaurants one of which are listed in Bridgestone Irish Food Guide notably for it's seafood. There is a regular ferry service to Arranmore Island every day for both cars and foot passengers.

Dungloe is the largest town in the“Rosses”. The “Mary From Dungloe International Festival” is held here every year at the end of July and famous throughout the world.

3 Roshine Acres is a brand new luxury holiday home located approximately 10 minutes walk from Burtonport Village. The house sleeps 8 and facilities include:-

Pets are welcome provided they are house trained and kept under control at all times. The garden is not fully enclosed.

Beaches

The coast which runs right along from Dungloe has numerous beautiful sandy beaches scattered along it. The nearest to the house is 2 miles away (5 mins drive). Simply turn right at the end of the lane and follow the road for 1 mile. You will see a left hand turn and a sign for Tra (Beach). Take this turn and follow the road taking a left turn at the first fork. Enjoy the breathtaking views on this beautiful winding road.

Shops

The nearest shop is at the filling station at the end of the lane. This sells all the essentials that you should need. For a proper supermarket the best on is Supervalue in Dungloe which has fresh breads, cakes, meats and fish daily, along with an off licence and a chemist.

Burtonport

The village is a 10 minute walk and there are number of bars and restaurants specialising in the local seafood. There is also a post office, Doctors surgery and Garda station. There is a car ferry from Burtonport to Arranmore Island leaving regularly throughout the day. Foot passengers can also travel. The fanatastic beach on arrival can be seen above.

Leisure Centre

There is a leisure centre with an indoor pool at the Ostann na Rossa hotel which is located on the main road into Dungloe.

Dungloe

Dungloe has numerous excellent bars and restaurant, shops and each year at the end of July hosts the famous 'Mary from Dungloe' International festival.

Golf

There are number of 9 and 18 hole golf courses nearby. Cruit Island (9 hole) being the closest. A full set of golf clubs are provided at the house and available for guest use.

Fishing

There are approximately 130 lakes for fishing in the Rosses area, many of them stocked by the Rosses Fishing Agency. Day permits and boat hire are available from Charlie Bonner's tackle shop on the main street in Dungloe

HOW TO REACH US:

By Road
We are situated just outside Burtonport village. Burtonport is approximately 3.5 miles north of the town of Dungloe along the R259.

Take the first right past the Statoil service station which is opposite the left hand turn into Burtonport. We are the third of three dwelling on the left hand side.
