From this base in Muckross you will find you are in the perfect location to visit all the beautiful sites Killarney and the surrounding regions have to offer. Hire a bike next door, and within two minutes you can view the Lakes, tour the lovely National Park and visit Muckross House, The Meeting of the Waters at Dinis Cottage again all within minutes.
Killarney town is very near this holiday home, just over a mile approx and is abundant in fine restaurants, good pubs with traditional Irish music , shopping, cinema and arts and crafts. There are numerous restaurants near the home from both onsite to Killarney town which we will be very happy to advise you on if you wish. Night life is readily available both at the INEC which is 500yds away and hosts many of Ireland's famous artists, entertainers and dancers and in the local pubs and hotels of the area. NIght clubbing is also on offer in the town of Killarney.
Summer and Christmas Festivals, Horse Racing Festival, Dance Championships, Rally of the Lakes, Ring of Kerry Cycle Tour, Harley Davidson Tour INEC concerts all showcase Killarney is a thriving, vibrant town and is well known as probably one of the most scenic places to visit in Ireland.
Famous for its Lakes, jaunting cars, spectacular beauty,gourmet food, you will find plenty to do in the locality. Fishing on the lakes is excellent for brown trout & salmon fishing.
Water enthuiasts and adventure is certainly on the cards in The Star Outdoor Adventure Centre located in Kenamre, only 25minute drive. From kayakking, canoeing, and numerous other activies on offer, the whole family can enjoy a splendid visit to Kenamre.
Killarney and Kerry are known as an excellent venue for cycling, walking, hiking and climbing. You can step out from our home and enter the 26,000 acres National Park across the road and you will find spectacular walking trails. Mountain climbing and hiking are very popular in the McGillacuddy Reeks mountains which surround Killarney and Ireland's highest mountain Corrain Tuathaill is also nearby
Bike hire is available only 400 yards from our home.
Horse Riding is a lovely way to enjoy a great day out and view the spectacular National Park or teh Gap of Dunloe from the saddle. There are a few centres locally who offer guided treks very near our home.
Jaunting Cars & local Jarveys provide a traditional, novel means of transport in Killarney to tour lovely sights on offer near our home. These guided horse drawn carriages offer visitors the chance to see Muckross National Park, Ross Castle and The Gap of Dunloe while the local driver (Jarvey) gives guided history tour.
