Mountain View number eight is a large detached luxury 4 bedroom house on Sheen Falls Lodge Estate in Kenmare, Co. Kerry.  The fixtures, fittings and furnishings are of the very highest standard for both luxury and comfort.  The living areas are all located downstairs while the sleeping quarters are all upstairs. 

There are four bedrooms in the house - No 8 Mountain View has 3 double rooms and 1 twin room - all ensuite.

The house is 2357 Square Footage.

Mountain View is sited on the elevated meadows and mountainside overlooking the Sheen Falls Country Club framed by the rolling hills of the Macgillycuddy Reeks to the south. The 13 detached houses positioned in Mountain View are orientated to maximise the stunning views from its elevated position while creating protecting south-west facing terraces.

Guests of Mountain View have free access to the onsite facilities of the Sheen Falls Lodge Hotel including leisure centre with swimming pool.

Pets are not allowed at Mountain View at Sheen Falls Lodge however kennels are available locally in Kenmare.  Call Shane Dignam on 087 9196660.

Relish the freedom to enjoy the authentic woodland, meandering Sheen River and heather-covered mountains of the 300-acre private Estate on which Sheen Falls Lodge is superbly located.

Attune yourself to the refreshing river-side walks, entwining forest pathways, glistening waterfalls and a sensation of peace that, in essence, is unique to Sheen Falls Lodge.

The Estate, cradled between the Caha Mountains and the Kenmare Bay, hosts a multitude of historic tales.  The ruins of a tiny church, known to date back to Viking times, can be found to the west of the Estate along with a Holy Well near the foreshore reputed to have distinctive healing properties.

An immense array of activities and interests, invigorating or relaxing, are at your disposal to ensure your visit to the Lodge leaves you with pleasant and fulfilled memories of your stay.

Welcome to the Health Club at Sheen Falls Lodge, Kenmare. The philosophy here, at the Health Club is to provide our guests with an escape from the stresses of every day life. It's a place where you can indulge in tranquil surroundings allowing you to relax, revitalise and invigorate your mind & body.

Soft classical music or the renditions of Jim Kiely (resident pianist) may be echoing softly throughout the Health Club where you can close your eyes and drift calmly into alpha theta phase quite happily.

The Health Club involves all of the senses, with extraordinary effects; through touch, smell, sight, hearing and taste, the effects of the treatment reach the most profound states of mind, and finally reach the fantastic level of relaxation.  The Health Club at the 5 star Sheen Falls Lodge has chosen YonKa as our signature beauty line. We offer Massage Therapy  with Aromatherapy body massages, Swedish massages and Reiki amongst others. The Health Club also offers Face Treatments, Body Treatments and Beauty Treatments and extensive Fitness Facilities which includes an indoor swimming pool (15 metres), a gymnasium, a spacious Jacuzzi and a Sauna.

Please note children are only permitted to use the pool between the hours of 9-11am and 4-6pm.

HOTEL EVENTS

Please note that on certain dates there are events being held in the Hotel which will mean that guests of Mountain View Eight will not be permitted to use the Hotel's facilities i.e. bar or restaurant.  However, during the majority of those dates, guests WILL be permitted to use the leisure centre and pool.   

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Kenmare lies approximately 30 minutes drive from a host of sandy beaches and it has a very pretty harbour from where you can swim, fish or take a trip on the "Seafari Cruise" to view the wildlife in the area.

Star Sailing & Adventure Centre

This new purpose-built Activity Centre and Bar/Restaurant is fast becoming an essential part of a family holiday in Kenmare. The centre itself is situated on the shores of Kenmare Bay and surrounded by the Caha Mountains just a five minute drive from Kenmare Town Centre.  The activities on offer include kayaking, sailing, canoeing, sea kayaking, hillwalking, team games and a Wildlife Safari Cruise on Kenmare Bay. BONANE HERITAGE PARK

The Bonane Heritage Park provides visitors with an 1600 metre walk on gravel paths through 5000 years of history while enjoying some breathtaking scenery. Bonane Heritage Park is situated 10Km from Kenmare on the N71 and is open to visitors all year round.

Golf

Kenmare boasts two super golf courses.  The Ring of Kerry Golf Course is located two miles outside of the town and offers spectacular views of Kenmare Bay from the course itself and also its newly renovated Club House.  Dream Ireland guests may avail of special discounted green fees. 

Kenmare Golf Club is located in Kenmare Town and follows the shores of Kenmare Bay Estuary.   

Angling

There are lots of great fishing spots to choose from around Kenmare including Clonee Lake, Kenmare Bay and the Black Valley.  Permits can be obtained locally.

Hill Walking

The Kerry Way and Beara Way walking routes are ideal for those with an interest in trekking or you could even join the annual summer hike to Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntouhil.  The foothills of the famous MacGillycuddy Reeks are right on Kenmare's doorstep. 

Diving

Pony Trekking

Pony Trekking is the ideal way to explore the hidden treasures of Kenmare and its hinterland.  Professional lessons are also available for beginners.

KENMARE

Kenmare is known as the jewel in the Ring of Kerry and no wonder with its location between two of the most beautiful touring routes in Europe - the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara.  These make for very enjoyable day trips from Kenmare.

Kenmare is a designated Heritage Town of Ireland and the town offers a huge selection of places of historical interest to visit.  Even strolling around the town is itself a pleasure with Kenmare having received awards from Entente Floral and the award for the Tidiest Town in Ireland in the year 2000.  Kenmare was recently awarded the accolade of Ireland's best kept town on the whole island of Ireland and deservedly so!

Killarney is a 40 minute drive and Cork City is just over an hour's drive. 


DINING & NIGHTLIFE

The town of Kenmare, noted for having the cleanest air in Europe, is a mecca for some of the finest restaurants in Ireland.  You really will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out, from bar food to seafood and a range of other types of excellent restaurants to experience.  The nightlife in Kenmare suits all ages and the hospitality with which you will be greeted is second to none.  There is a great selection of pubs and late night bars to choose from with many featuring live music from traditional Irish to rock and modern styles.   

 

DATES THAT HOTEL AND LEISURE FACILITIES CLOSED AT SHEEN FALLS IN 2012

From 10th February until the 6th April 2012, the hotel and leisure facilities are only open at weekends (Friday and Saturdays).
However there is someone onsite Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm so can facilitate checkins during this time.

The Hotel re-opens full time for the Season on the 6th April 2012.

 The hotel and leisure centre will be closed on 7th and 8th December 2012

The hotel and leisure centre will be closed on 11, 12 and 13th July 2012.
