Cahermore Apartment 3A is located just a short stroll from Enniscrone Town Centre.  Enniscrone is a very popular tourist town in Sligo in the North West of Ireland and is famous for its wonderful links golf course and golden sandy beach.  In addition, the town is host to Waterpoint Activity Centre with a 16m swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, gym and especially for the children - a Gigantic Slide Twister!

THE ACCOMMODATION:

Cahermore 3A is a two bedroomed apartment which can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people in one double bedroom with ensuite facililities and a twin bedroom with separate bathroom.  There are two televisions - one in the living room and one in the master bedroom.    

Electricity charges are included in the rate.

ENNISCRONE:

The Beach
Enniscrone beach is one of the safest and tidiest beaches in all of Ireland. It has held the blue flag for many years & fully trained lifeguards also patrol it for the summer months.

Enniscrone pier
The pier is a great place for diving or cannon balls and all that sort of stuff.   You must go by the tide table because when tide is out it can be very shallow, also it can get very busy at the pier with boats and water bikes.

THINGS TO DO LOCALLY:

1. Seventh Wave Surf School
   Enniscrone boasts a pristine gentle sloping beach which is an ideal place for a beginner or the more experienced surfer, with fully trained lifeguards during the summer months. Why not take some lessons from the experts..learn to surf with an Irish surfing association qualified and approved surf school. the whole family can experience the thrill of surfing in a pristine gentle sloping beach. The Seventh Wave Surf School is based in Enniscrone.

• The Children’s Playground is found in the hollow alongside the beach. It offers a ball pound, bouncing castle, crazy golf, tennis, swings, slides round about and more. Opening hours: May – Aug 10am – 8pm  (weather permitting)


• Walk 1 (approx 2 miles) Starting outside the church (across from Mace) Start walking down towards the beach, the Route follows onto Cliff Road passing the light house apartments all the way to the Pier keeping the sea on the left hand side The Route proceeds on to the Carrowhubbock Road (you will see caithir mhor est. in front of you) and turns left. Having walked about 800 meters the Route takes the only turn to the right just past a white Cottage and just before a housing estate and turns away from the sea. A small Ring fort can be seen to the right. This minor road takes the walker to the Main Sligo Road,
  at the crossroads. The Route turns right; the ruins of ODowds Castle can be seen to the right (late 14th Century). After about 400 meters the Castle field comes into view on the right hand side, also the ruins of Valentines Abbey (18th Century). After another 800 meters the walk is back at the starting point.
• Walk 2 (approx 3.7 miles) As for Walk 1 until you reach the small white cottage, but instead of turning right off the Carrowhubbock South Road, proceed straight on until the rout comes to the end of the road. A large Ring fort (Cahermore) comes into view. The Route leaves the road and climbs the fort. This fort is connected by underground chambers (Souterrains). These passages are now blocked up for safety reasons. The walk continues along the Rocky Shore until the Route meets the Lacken Road (McCann’s) approx. 700 meters From the Carrowhubbock North Road. The Route turns right away from the Sea Shore and continues straight up the Lacken Road until you come to a T-junction. The Route follows to the right of this junction. The walk passes LynnottsPub and heads back to Enniscrone. Great care is advised for approx 800 meters, as this is a busy narrow road, if walking in a group please walk in single file. At the cross roads, the Route is the same as Walk 1.
• Deep Sea Angling
  Enniscrone is a prime location for Deep-sea angling; the pier sits right on the bay so you can begin as soon as the boat departs. There is a variety of about twenty-five fish ranging from cod, mackerel, conger or even skate.
• Shore fishing :You can treat yourself to the three-mile Beach here in Enniscrone for an excellent Session of beach casting with the possibility of catching some sea trout, bass and plaice. Large catches has been recorded.
  Salmon & trout Fishing: As the world famous river Moy enters into the bay at the top of the Enniscrone beach, were fishing into the estuary can catch abundance of trout and just seven miles up stream at the quay in Ballina is a great spot for salmon fishing.
• Waterpoint is an indoor water leisure facility. It also holds a great fully equipped gym . It’s a great place for group tours or outings. Its features include:Heated swimming pool,Kiddie’s fun pool,65m Fantastic water slide,Fully equipped gym,Adult health suite with steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi.  It also has a great snack bar (with seating area).

• Surfing: Enniscrone is now well known for surfing the breakers on the beach .During the summer season there is a mobile unit of the “Killala bay surfing club” which rents out surfboards and wet suits and will even teach you the basics of surfing. Another great spot for surfing is about 400 meters north of the back of the pier.
• Swimming: There are three main places to swim in Enniscrone. These are the beach, the pier, and water point.
