Perfect Getaway

"My family and I had a wonderful week on Rossmore island in August this year in Carraig Fada. What a wonderful location to enjoy the splendour of the Irish countryside and all that South Kerry has to offer whilst enjoying all the comforts from home in an incredibly well appointed and decorated holiday home. This is certainly not your typical short let holiday house but rather a holiday home for the owners, that we had the good fortune to borrow for a wonderful week this year. Sunroom with view of the ocean, quality beds and really well equipped kitchen are just a few of the many highlights that we as a family really enjoyed. rnWe would certainly like to come back again."

Staycation Serenity

"Our family of five stayed here for week in early August. The house is set in a peaceful remote area but the scenery and tranquillity of the location is ideal for anybody wanting to get away from the hustle of modern life. The house offers panoramic views of the ocean and also the mountains on both the Beara and Iveragh peninsulas. There is ample space for a family of five with all the facilities for cooking/cleaning. The sunroom was great to relax and take in the long evenings. Outside, the sunroom, we had breakfast and dinner on a few occasions on the patio area which runs the full length of the house and again takes in all the views of the ocean and mountains. Sneem is only 10 mins away and offers a few good options for food (recommend o Sheas) of if you want to head back to Kenmare direction, try Shutters or the boathouse Bistro in Dromquinna Manor. If you go to Kenmare, there are plenty of options for all tastes. We made the most of the local area and went on few hikes from Sneem, did some water activities with Star Adventures, visited Derrynane beach, Gap of Dunloe, Muckross House, and took a boat tour of the lakes. There is lots of options for the both the active and less active adventurers. We found the house an ideal location to immerse yourself on what Kerry has to offer and will definitely be back."

We did not want to leave

"Our family of 5 - me and my husband and three college age kids, had an unforgettable stay in this wonderful cottage in this beautiful place. We flew to Ireland from Chicago and after staying 3 nights in Dublin we drive to Kerry for the week. We were greeted by caretakers Anna and Patrick. They so kindly informed us of our immediate surroundings and provided loads of material about things to do, places to see and where to eat, and folks we might be interested in talking to (I was doing some family tree research). The cottage itself is just as it looks online, possibly more beautiful (often online presentations are misleading, especially in terms of space - not so in this case). The kitchen is very well equipped, which was good because we did want to cook and use the grill. Two of our kids are college runners and they were able to continue their training with morning runs. With the cottage as our home base we were able to to see most of the peninsula as well as Dingle. Although we still had a stop in Galway and then London to look forward to before heading home, we really had a hard time leaving the serenity of this little home on Rossmore Island."
