"Having read so many great reviews about this cottage, we were expecting somewhere special but we didn't anticipate just how special! This is a spectacular part of the country anyway but to be tucked away in such a private, unique spot took it to a whole different level. It is difficult to describe the luxury of waking to the view of the little pier outside the gate filling up, the sound of birdsong or passing sheep. Suffice it to say, it is utterly unique. We paddle boarded in the pier at sunset, we strolled up the road, in a little gate to the Bundorragha river where we watched the salmon jumping. We drove to Clifden through the most glorious countryside, we visited Glasilaun beach (which has to be one of the most spectacular spots in Ireland) and Silver Strand where we watched a family of sheep dashing across the tiny causeway before they could be cut off by the tide. But we could quite happily have stayed at Bundorragha cottage, reading, swimming, strolling every day. And Deirdre, the owner, is such a wonderful host, so generous with information, baking a cake for us and always on hand to help (one of our party forgot a cable for an electronic device -she found one and lent it!). The warmest, kindest person who has created a cottage that oozes character and charm. You won't want to leave. We didn't!"

"We stayed in this wonderful cottage for 5 nights and wished it could have been SO much longer. The renovated cottage is full of charm, with great attention to detail, and all the modern conveniences. The big glass windows in the dining area and master bedroom allowed us to enjoy the Bundorragha River's ever-changing scene as well as a magnificent full moon one night. Sheep, birds, even Brinkley the owner's dog came into view. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spic-and-span clean. The living room with wood stove was a cozy and nice retreat on the one rainy day we experienced during our stay. The owner, Deirdre, had a fire going for us when we arrived and also provided a good supply of turf and wood for our stay. We were also warmly welcomed by her with a freshly made cake, eggs and lettuce fresh from the farm. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed and I knew that all I would have to do was ask and Deirdre would have provided. We have rented close to a dozen times in Ireland and Deirdre is one of the most accommodating hosts we have ever met. It is no wonder her cottage reflects her generous personality. The location is equally amazing. The cottage is tucked away off a main road so we felt like we were truly away from it all, but in fact we had easy access for popping into Leenane, exploring the Connemara, driving the scenic road to Louisburgh and the haunting Doolough Pass, or just walking down to the pier after dinner. There is so much to see in this area we barely touched the surface and cannot wait to return. This is not your cookie-cutter rental - it has soul."
