Good for family with toddler & grandparents

"This proved a great pick for a multi-generational week away.Downstairs bedroom particularly useful for grandparents (as stairs a problem). We stayed in a house for a week in Sept 2012 with a toddler and grandparents (for part of the week). The house was excellent, the kitchen with pretty much everything you would need (though I brought a few things from home - especially for toddler feeding). The house the bedrooms a good size, there were three shower / bathrooms, including a shower room downstairs which suited us well as not so mobile grandparents stayed in the downstairs bedroom. We had good weather but not warm so the beach was pleasant for a walk but none of us were brave enough for a swim. We were glad to have wellies to be able to splash about carefree. The pool was the big draw for us and did not disappoint - clean and good opening hours. The bar food was ok - nothing to write home about; but the food in the restaurant upstairs a bit better. The view was beautiful. Mostly we catered for ourselves. We found so much to do locally we could easily have stayed another week. We took a day trip to Fota island animal park which was great and another trip to an open farm at Dungourney - this was super and had a big coffee shop (lovely homemade scones) and friendly staff.Another morning we spent on the pier at Ballycotton and on a nearby beach and playground. There is a small playground on the hotel site - next the the leisure centre - they could really make this five times the size and have a coffee shop next to it and make a killing. The place was mostly full of families - lots of pre-schoolers naturally as we went during school term. Youghal itself is about 2-3 miles away; people were very friendly and it had a SuperValu in town and a Lidl (or Aldi?) just outside of the main shopping streets. Parts of the town look a bit down at heel, but people were so nice that it made up for a lot. Overall, I would certainly recommend."
