With unrivalled views towards Kenmare Bay below, Beechlawn is a truly wonderful place to holiday and enjoy this most beautiful corner of Ireland. The moment you drive through the gate you will be encompassed by the beautiful lawns and the views beyond. There is plenty of car parking space close to the entrance door. You enter through the utility area (ideal for kicking off wellies or flip flops depending on the season) into the open plan living area. The first thing you will see when you walk in is the incredible uninterrupted view over the Bay below from all of the floor to ceiling windows and doors.
LAYOUT
Although open plan, this space has clearly defined areas within it. The kitchen is really well laid out and has everything you will need during your stay including a Rangemaster, beautifully crafted cabinets, dishwasher, fridge freezer and plenty more besides. It has an island unit perfect for preparing meals and a stool to sit at. To the left is the cosy sitting room area with comfy couches, SMART TV and great views. The dining table is in the middle of the room and can be extended to comfortably seat 8 people. There is a little corner to the right of the room with a vibrant orange loveseat and matching upholstered chair – perfect for retiring to with a good book. The wood burning stove and eye catching blue fireplace takes up the right hand wall area and provides an attractive focal point in the room.
Separate is the sunroom with more comfy couches to sink into while enjoying the views and perhaps a steaming cup of morning coffee or an aperitif before dinner. The telescope in the corner will offer you the chance to spot stars and constellations here on the edge of the Dark Sky Reserve. If you feel you need to escape from the rest of the house you can close off this sunroom using the sliding door between it and the main living space.
There is a door from the main living area as well as bilfold doors leading from the sunroom out onto the deck where you will really capture the essence of this property and the views beyond. Relax and enjoy the long summer evenings sitting at the picnic bench. There is also a bbq and fire pit for your use during your stay.
Should the weather turn cold or wintery you could move inside and snuggle up in front of the stove with some board games thoughtfully provided for your use by the owners.
There are four bedrooms to the left of the living area. Please note that there are a couple of shallow steps going down to this area. The main bathroom is a wet room style with walk in shower. Beside this is the amply sized single bedroom into which we can put a camp bed suitable for a child or teen. Next door is a double bedroom with wash hand basin and mirror over it. Each of these rooms offers views towards the Bay.
There is a lovely twin bedroom overlooking the garden opposite and then the master double bedroom has a king size bed and large ensuite with both a bath and a separate shower.
WiFi
Guests can access the wifi free of charge and there is a bluetooth music system for you to hook up your own devices to and set the mood for your stay.
