Doonbeg (Gaelic: Dunbeg meaning small fort) is a small village in West County Clare between Kilkee and Miltown Malbay. There is an Old Stone Bridge in the centre of the village which is over looked by Doonbeg Castle. Doonbeg River flows through the village and enters the Atlantic Ocean at Doonbeg Bay. Doonbeg has a lovely small beach called White Strand and Kilkee’s Golden Sandy Blue Flag Beach is just 10kms away.
