Achill Half Marathon is coming to the stunning Island of Achill on 6th July 2013. This beautiful island off the west coast of Mayo will see a staggering two and a half thousand plus entrants take on the mighty 13 mile route. This year the organisers have added a 10km run. Not only this but if this years visitors are to top that of last year then Achill Island will be very pleased to welcome and play host to another crowd of an incredible number of spectators also. Race director Helen Applegarth, who is also Manager of the Island’s tourism organization, said “Feedback from runners tells us it’s a combination of the challenging course, the beautiful views and the local hospitality that makes it so attractive to them.
