The apartment is lovely, bright & modern & situated in the heart of the village - a stone's throw from the 3 village restaurants, Igoes (next door), Morrissey's (20 metres) & Tubridy's (100 metres). It overlooks the park & river just across the road. It has all modern conveniences & is newly plumbed & wired & insulated to a high standard. 

The main living area comprises of a living cum dining cum kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave, kettle and toaster and all the crockery, cutlery and glassware you will need.

There is a guest toilet downstairs.  Stairs bring you up to the ensuite bedroom with double bed. The ensuite has a toilet, wash hand basin and a walk in shower.

The back door brings you out into the little courtyard garden with a gate. 

Wifi is available free of charge.

DOONBEG

Doonbeg is a charming small seaside village in West Clare.  It got its name from the Irish, Dun Beag which means little fort as the village grew up around Doonbeg Castle. 
 
Doonbeg is a wonderful base for touring County Clare as it is just 10km from Kilkee with its golden sandy beach and Waterworld Leisure Complex and is also within easy driving distance of other popular tourist towns of Lahinch (30km), Liscannor and Doolin in Clare.
 
It is easily accessible by road from Ennis or by the Ferry between Tarbert in North Kerry and Killimer in County Clare. 
 

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Sandy Beaches
The beautiful Blue Flag sandy beach of White Strand lies just outside the village of Doonbeg and offers offers breathtaking views out across the Atlantic Ocean.  It is ideal for swimming and walking.    
 
Dolphin Watching
The mouth of the River Shannon is home to Ireland’s only resident community of bottlenose dolphins numbering approximately 100 members.  The local dolphin watch tours boast a sighting rate of 98% during the months of May to August and operate from the towns of Kilrush and Carrigaholt. 
 
Golf
The village of Doonbeg has recently become famous for its wonderful Links Golf Course.  Doonbeg Golf Club plays along 1.5 miles of beach and dunes.  The ocean is visible from the green, fairway, or tee of 16 of the 18 holes.  For further information visit www.doonbeggolfclub.com
 
Walking
Clare and its coastline offers some incredible walks including the Burren Walking Route which is a 26 mile (42 km) signposted walking trail from the town of Liscannor, along by the Cliffs of Moher, on to Doolin and into Ballyvaughan.   
 
Diving
Kilkee offers some incredible diving spots with clear waters (average visibility of up to 12 metres) and an abundant marine life.   
 
Horse Riding
The Clare Equestrian Centre is located just outside Ennis and offers trekking and cross-country rides along with Pony Camps, lessons and much more.  Beach Treks are also available locally.
 
Surfing
Doughmore Strand and Spanish Point are particularly renowned locally for great surfing. 
 

LOCAL EVENTS

Jazz Festival
Every year, the village of Doonbeg is home to a Jazz Festival attracting musicians and visitors from all over the world (June Bank Holiday Weekend)
 
Willie Keane Memorial Weekend
This is a traditional music and dancing festival held in Doonbeg every October Bank Holiday Weekend. 
 
 

VISITOR ATTRACTIONS

The Cliffs of Moher
Within easy driving distance of Doonbeg are the world renowned Cliffs of Moher rising to over 215 m (700ft) and stretching for over 8km. 
 
Kilkee WaterWorld Leisure Centre
WaterWorld is an indoor aqua adventure playground and one of the best leisure centres in the West of Ireland offering a selection of fun features to keep all the family amused.  (Open seasonally)
 
The Burren
The northwestern corner of County Clare features The Burren - a rock garden extending over more than 100 square miles of bare, pale, grey limestone interspersed with magnificent floral pockets and crevices. 
 
Aillwee Cave
Aillwee Cave is one of the west of Ireland’s top tourist attractions with stalactites, stalagmites, relics of bears and Waterfall.  Open daily from mid March– Oct.
 
Aran Islands
The Aran Islands are one of the last outposts of Gaelic civilisation.  They are stunningly beautiful and feature ancient relics of prehistoric civilisations.  Daily boat trips operate from Doolin to all three of the Aran Islands.
