Located in the peaceful Kerry village of Beaufort, just 10kms from Killarney town, Solas at The Pot of Gold is a stylish three bedroom cottage to sleep up to 7 people.This lovely home offers uninterrupted views toward the Macgillycuddy Reeks, Purple Mountain, Strickeen Mountain and the Gap of Dunloe from its south facing windows. Beaufort lies at the foot of the lofty Carrauntoohil – Ireland’s highest mountain.
Originally opened in 1966 as a large B&B, The Pot of Gold has now been lovingly recreated as two beautiful and modern properties – Draiocht and Solas - each completely separate from one another with their own parking area and a seating area with furniture. The garden at the front is shared between the two, but you could spend your entire stay here without even knowing that the other property was occupied.
You enter Solas directly into the bright airy, cosy sunroom. This leads through to the open plan living, dining and kitchen area which is bright and elegantly furnished with real attention to detail throughout. Relax in your private retreat with comfortable furniture and very well-equipped kitchen.
Solas offers free wifi throughout, along with a SMART TV and there is also selection of board games and books for you to enjoy. The house is heated with oil fired central heating.
All three bedrooms are on the ground floor. There is a large super king-sized bedroom which is ensuite with shower. The second bedroom has a king-size bed and has access to the walk-in shower wet room right across the hall. It has a lovely reading nook in it when you need a little bit of time out from the rest of the household. The third bedroom is the “family” bedroom and has a double bed as well as a single is ensuite with shower. High quality bed linen and towels are provided as well as hairdryers. Should you need a travel cot and/ or highchair, these can also be provided.
Solas is a very private cottage and is set back from the country road that runs through the village. The Beaufort Bar and Galvin’s Bar are just a short stroll away as is the local shop and post office.
For your convenience, there is a storage shed in the backyard with a water hose, a clothesline to hang rain gear and wetsuits, and enough room to stow hiking boots, bicycles, and other equipment.
