Description
The Courtyard is made up of two 2 bedroomed apartments and one 1 bedroomed apartment ideal for families, friends and couples alike. Fresh and welcoming, each apartment at The Courtyard is equipped with all cooking facilities that you need, excellent WiFi, and television sets with endless channels and movies to choose from. Catering and shopping is available upon prior request and subject to availability.
All three apartments have been recently refurbished and each apartment is elegantly decorated with its own unique style and story. The owners have scoured vintage and antique shops around the country to add that extra flare and individuality to the living spaces of The Courtyard apartments.
White & Green luxury organic cotton bed linen is used on all beds and Dalkey liquid handmade soap is provided to ensure you can fully unwind during your stay. All bedrooms are ensuite for your comfort and privacy.
There is a communal laundry area with a washing machine and a dryer and there is also a freezer in the same area if you need to store anything.
There is a lovely Courtyard area with seating for you to relax and enjoy this peaceful setting.
PETS
Although we do welcome some pets, they are on a request basis only as we would need to speak with the owner before being able to confirm. Just mention it when you are making the booking and we will enquire straight away and let you know soonest.
The Blackwater Apartment
Named after the powerful Blackwater river which passes through Mallow as it crosses Munster from Kerry to the sea in Youghal. The first bedroom has a 6ft super-king sized bed and the second bedroom has a 5ft king-sized bed. Its modern and stylish kitchen and living area is the perfect spot to relax after a busy day exploring the wonders of Cork and Munster.
The Mount Hillary
Named after Mount Hillary, a 400m mountain located to the west of the property. This apartment has two bedrooms, the first bedroom has a 5ft king sized bed and the second has two 4ft 6in queen/double beds. This apartment is ideal for a family, with its multiple beds and comfortable living area to settle down after a day of adventures.
The Gortnagross (1 bed)
Named after Gortnagross - the townland on which the property is built, Gortnagross comes from the Irish Gort na gCros, meaning the Field of Crosses. This stylish apartment has one bedroom with a 6ft super-king sized bed. This apartment is ideal for a couple looking to relax in a romantic atmosphere after a long day enjoying the many experiences on offer in this Munster area.

Walking
Doneraile Park – Bring a picnic for lunch by the river or enjoy a cup of tea and light lunch in Doneraile Court Tearooms or The Café Townhouse.
Blarney Castle and Gardens – Fabulous day out for all the family at the home of the famous Blarney stone.
Mallow Castle and Park Walk – Keep an eye out for the unique white deer at the Castle!
Yoga Walks Ireland - Yoga walks organised in local scenic areas, where you immerse yourself fully in nature.
Hiking
Claragh Mountain Loop – Don your hiking boots and soak up the beautiful scenery of North Cork. On a clear day you can expect to see the Killarney lakes from the top of Claragh Mountain. This loop takes approximately 3 hours and expect to cross different terrain
Mount Hillary offers a variety of walks
The Island Wood in Newmarket.
Explore all that the Ballyhouras have to offer with numerous walking and hiking trails as well as mountain biking etc. The view from the top of Ballyhoura is amazing, as pictured during sunrise.
Golf
Mallow, Doneraile and Kanturk Golf Clubs are all within a 20 minute drive of The Courtyard
Numerous acclaimed golf-courses, such as Adare, Killarney and most Cork courses are within an hours driving distance
Fishing
The Blackwater River, well-known for its salmon and trout fishing, is on our doorstep. Fishing can be arranged for our guests – please get in touch for more information.
Horse-Racing
Enjoy a day at the races, with Cork Racecourse Mallow right on our doorstep. Cork racecourse is the home of National Hunt racing in Ireland, with 20 national hunt and flat meets taking place throughout the year.
There is a race-meeting to suit all ages and interests. Exciting fixtures for 2021 include the Racing Home for Easter Festival, The Paddy Power Cork National, Cork Rocks Friday night Music Nights, Superheros/Fancy Dress Family Fun Raceday, The Kerry Group Hilly Way Chase to name a few.
Activity Centres
Ballyhass Lakes and Activity Centre has something for everyone. Kayaking, wakeboarding, abseiling and zip-lining are just a few of the exciting activities on offer. Lucky for us, it is just a 15 minute drive from The Courtyard.
