Number 5, The Inch is an incredibly luxurious five bedroomed mansion located in the grounds of Mount Juliet Estate in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.  The Inch is a small and exclusive line of large, privately owned properties very close to the Hotel.  Each of the houses has beautiful views over the Estate and the River Nore that runs through it.  There is plenty of private parking space outside.

The layout of this house is slightly unusual in that you enter the house on the first floor and the kitchen and sitting room/ dining room are located on this floor along with a guest bathroom.  There is also a study room with a couch that can be folded out into a spare bed.

In all, there are five bedrooms in the house.  There are two bedrooms upstairs.  The Master double bedroom is huge with wonderful views from a large, heavily curtained window.  The bed is a king size water bed and the bathroom is as big as another room and leads onto a private dressing area with lots of storage space. The bathroom has a stand alone bath and a huge shower.

The second bedroom on this floor is also a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.

The remaining bedrooms are all located on the floor below the entrance level.  Here there are three bedrooms – two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (one is a four poster bed) and one with two single beds (again with ensuite bathroom).

There is also a cinema room on this level which could double up as a children’s playroom with its comfy couches and large floor area.  All the rooms downstairs have patio doors which open onto the back garden area of the house.

There is a lift in the house to bring you up or down to the bedrooms!

THE LIVING ROOM

The living room is really large and comfortable with a full sized L shaped couch, a separate dining area with large table and chairs to seat 12, there is an open fireplace and coal and timber is supplied on arrival, the widescreen TV is large as befits a room of this size and there is SKY TV and a DVD player.

THE KITCHEN

The kitchen is exactly what you would want from a kitchen in a house like this.  It has a large kitchen table with seating for 8-10 people and the kitchen itself has loads of preparation space including a centre island with small rinsing sink.  The kitchen has been equipped with all the utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware you would need to prepare any meal.  There is a large gas hob and two ovens.  The utility area houses a second dishwasher, a washer/ dryer and a wine storage unit.

GAMES ROOM

This house even has a games room with a full size pool table and an indoor putting green which you are welcome to use during your stay.

GARDEN

There is a large private garden area along with patio furniture and barbeque.

FAMILY HOLIDAYS

EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITIES

Close to Mount Juliet House, the Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre stables horses and ponies which are available for basic and advanced tuition, horse riding, show jumping, trail riding through the grounds and cross-country jumping on the estate's own challenging course.

With the freedom of 1,500 secluded acres to enjoy, Mount Juliet provides an exhilarating equestrian experience which visitors never forget.

Also within the boundaries of the estate is Ballylinch Stud, where the McCalmont family, bred many world famous racing horses including The Tetrarch, once known as "the fastest horse in the history of the turf".
