Awood House near Lucan - Lucan West County Dublin Co. Dublin

Family Friendly | Corporate Use | Large Capacity | Private Cottage | Activity and Adventure | Wi-Fi | Open Fireplace | Luxury Holiday Homes | Romantic Properties

Located just outside Lucan village and nestled in the centre of its own private 35 acres of farm land is the fully restored 1820's Georgian property "Awood House".  It lies just 25 minutes' drive from Dublin city centre and 20 minutes from Dublin Airport. As it is on the west side of Dublin, it gives easy access to the whole country.

Entrance to Awood House is up the sequoia redwood tree-lined drive via the Gate Lodge.  You will immediately be faced with fields stretching as far as the eye can see towards the Dublin mountains.  A front lawn leads up to the Main House.

This is a family home available only for rentals at selected periods during the year, so it has been furnished and decorated to be loved and to be lived in.  Downstairs is a cosy sitting room with an open fire as well as a Drawing Room which also has an open fire.  Patio doors lead outside to a patio and BBQ area which faces West and towards the magnificent 280 year old Cedar tree on the lawn.

The sitting room has French doors which open into the dining room and kitchen area.  It can be closed off for privacy and cosiness or left open to create a large open plan space.  The dining room features a large table ideal for entertaining as it can seat up to 10 people comfortably.  There are two kitchens, each featuring an Aga.  There is a oil fired Aga as well as a gas-fired one.  This is a kitchen area that was meant to be used and is perfect for catering for a large family group.  There is additional island seating on high chairs.  A separate utility area is home to the laundry facilities.

This home features 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms as well as two guest WC's.  The annexe off the kitchen and utility area houses two double bedrooms downstairs and another two directly over them upstairs.  Each of the sets of bedrooms shares a bathroom.

There are another 2 double bedrooms and a twin bedroom upstairs in the Main House. There is a bathroom just outside the twin bedroom door.  The master double has a walk-in wardrobe and a large ensuite as well doors leading to a large balcony area outside.
Awood House combines Period features with modern living, having had a complete renovation 2 years ago to add modern comforts including underfloor heating, a sound system and WiFi throughout as well as marble bathrooms, two kitchens and two Aga cookers.

As it is located on a farm, Awood House is usually home to a number of animals including the adorable Irish Wolfhound "Finn" who is the family pet, Billy the Goat, Snowy the Cat, a few ponies in the stables outside and some chickens in the farmyard.  Don't worry though, we will have all the animals relocated during your stay...
On its 35 acres, Awood House features a new full size tennis court along with a horse jumping paddock to the rear as well as a serene pond.
Daily housekeeping is available upon request.  Please enquire with us directly.

There are 5 golf courses within 10 minute drive including Carton house, K Club and Palmerstown are 30 minutes away.
