Description
Located on the borders of counties Leitrim and Cavan, Garadice View Farmhouse nestles in the heart of the Shannon-Erne Waterway. It lies between the town of Ballyconnell in Co. Cavan and Ballinamore in Co. Leitrim – each being 10km from the house. It is set directly across from Lough Garadice which is one of the largest lakes on the Shannon and is renowned world-wide for its excellent fishing.
This farmhouse has recently been renovated and is jointly owned by a local Irish couple and a German couple who fell in love with the area after coming over to fish locally for 25 years! Ideal for fishermen and families alike, Garadice Farmhouse can sleep up to 6 people in 4 bedrooms.
Located on a crossroads directly opposite the lake, guests of Garadice Farmhouse have direct private access to the lake and the jetty which is ideal for launching boats. There is a canoe which can be used by guests during their stay and boats and fishing gear can be hired from the owners.
While traditional in style, this house has all the modern touches you would require during your stay. Parking is to the rear of the house where there is also a sandbox, swings and a climbing ladder for children to enjoy. A charcoal BBQ is available for your use.
In addition, bicycles are available for use by our guests free of charge.
The kitchen is also home to the dining table to seat six people.
There is a bathroom with toilet and electric shower downstairs.
The living room has a cosy open fire along with couches, a 49" Smart, TV, DVD and a stereo. Wifi is available free of charge to guests.
All four bedrooms are located upstairs along with the main bathroom with electric shower. Please note that there is NO BATH in this property. Should you need them, safety stair gates can now be provised for younger children at the property.
There are two twin bedrooms with two single beds in each and two single bedrooms. All bedrooms have their own TV. There is also a small reading room at the top of the stairs with a couple of chairs- a nice place to escape for a bit of peace and quiet!
One small and well behaved dog is welcome on request. Please enquire with us before booking as this property is located alongside a working farm and the yard is not enclosed so a pet would need to be very carefully supervised.
While the main house is non-smoking, the owners have thoughtfully created a separate smoking area in the old Post Office building to the rear. This has a chair and an open fire.
The closest pub would be the Ballymac Inn which is about 1km from the farmhouse and it serves food every day. The closest shop would be Richardson’s supermarket which is 1km in the other direction and it has a great delicatessen.
